Lateness

We all know that this sport of table tennis that we all love is riddled with apathy & problems. Local leagues are losing clubs & teams every season, with players getting older and, in many leagues, not being replaced by youngsters.
Yet surprisingly, we don’t help the situation with our attitudes and “heads in the sands” way of regarding things.
I was appalled the other night at the Centre with players strolling in way past the stipulated time of starting, and then having the audacity to ask for a practice knock sometimes taking up to an additional 10 minutes.

Lefties v Righties

There is no doubt about it us left handed players are better than the right handers-(especially at table tennis)well we think so and to prove it we (the left handers)challenge any right handers to the ultimate match. We have players of all ages from 9 to over 70 so right handers of all ages prepared to meet the challenge -register your names on this site-we will be in touch

Sunday Evening Opening???

We have tried many incarnations for Sunday Evening Opening,Ladies Night,
Ladies free,Davis Cup Doubles,-all to no avail.
For the club to open,we need consistently to take over £45 table money
not a few pound for a very limited number of players.
We need the place to be kept tidy ,the glasses to be washed ,drinks replenished, money to be controlled, toilets to be kept clean, tiolet paper to be added if neccessary. The cost of light and heat ,insurance ,make it very unlikely that we will ever open on a regular basis are we being pessemistic
do you have any better ideas ????

Membership Fees

Over the years many suggestions as to what we should charege for membership and social playing fees have been muted, especially from those who use the club on a regular basis. We would like to have your opinions-but you need some facts to help you
1)Membership fees income from about 110 people is just over £5000.
2)We receive just over £10000 from evening use of the centre excluding summer and Winter league match Fees.but including Friday and Saturday Evenings.
3) We will be having a fully operating kitchen within the next few weeeks.

Great Stuff

Congrats to Chippy for the new web site & also to Ray for the Summer League.
